GUEST ARTIST: TONY COLELLA
Working as we do at a large toy company, a certain amount of creative steam builds up and occasionally gets blown off. Meet Tony Colella, a sculptor and painter and esstreeeemely gifted cartoonist (here's his website). Here is what happened when we found out that Tony has an ability and willingness to draw pretty much anything we ask him to:
1: DOODLE:First, you have to understand that Doodling is forbidden at our worksite:
2. 13 APPLE PIES: Tony: draw 13 apple pies on the counter of SteakTip Charlie's. Behind the counter are old saws and Disney characters. A toothless man wearing a football helmet at the cash register, stirring 4 (?) of cooked apples.
3. BLOB: Tony! Draw a blob! (he did, and the instructions were then modified) Give it a hangover mixed with Joie De Vivre!
4. CIRCUS BEAR: Tony - Draw a circus bear on a unicycle reading Charles Dickens and humming "Oh, Canada" while simultaneously balancing precariously on the heads of two T-Rex with whipped cream. (we provided the unicycle to help him)
5. WORM IN TUXEDO: Tony! Draw some more stuff! Draw a worm in a Tuxedo playing a violin. How about a lord of the dance worm? Or a worm cruising the net for pictures of Cindy Margolis? Draw a drunk worm!
